Hiking
The bisse walks around Haute-Nendaz are a great way to explore the beautiful and historic irrigation channels of the region. Bisses are canals that divert water from the rivers to the crops on the mountain slopes. They date back to the Middle Ages and are a testament to the ingenuity and perseverance of the Valaisans.
There are eight bisses in Nendaz, six of which still carry water and serve their original purpose. They are located between 700 and 2,300 metres above sea level and offer gentle and relaxing paths for walkers of all ages and abilities. Some of the bisses cross through villages, while others are perched high in the mountains, offering stunning views of the valley and the Alps.
One of the most popular bisse walks is the one that connects Haute-Nendaz and Veysonnaz along the Bisse du Milieu and the Bisse de Vex. This walk takes about four hours and follows the water’s edge through forests, meadows and pastures. Along the way, you can learn more about the history and construction of these remarkable canals, as well as enjoy the flora and fauna of the area.

Mountain Biking
Haute-Nendaz is a paradise for mountain biking enthusiasts, with more than 20 paths to explore in the 4 Vallées region. Whether you prefer challenging trails or scenic routes, you will find something to suit your taste and level.
You can ride along the historic irrigation channels (bisses) that offer gentle and relaxing paths with stunning views of the valley and the Alps. You can also discover the alpine pastures and forests that surround the resort, or venture higher up to the mountain lakes and glaciers.
If you are looking for more adrenaline, you can try some of the downhill tracks that start from the top of the ski lifts. You can also join the Tour du Mont-Fort or the Tour de la Printse, two epic circuits that connect several resorts in the 4 Vallées.
For a more comfortable and eco-friendly ride, you can rent an e-mountain bike from one of the local shops and enjoy a longer and easier ride. You can also join a guided tour or an e-bike gourmet tour to discover the best spots and taste some local specialties.

Paragliding
Nendaz offers paragliding options for tourists. Element’Air is the only paragliding school in Nendaz and offers tandem flights in summer and winter. The flying site overlooks the Rhone Valley in central Valais and is surrounded by majestic mountains with breath-taking panoramic views – perfect for learning to take to the skies and practising the sport.
